13 Manor Crescent is a specialized care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to four adults with learning disabilities and autism. At the time of our review, four individuals lived at the service. Families looking for a supportive environment will find a dedicated home that prioritizes person-centred care, individual independence, and active engagement with the local community. The home benefits from a stable team of permanent staff and active management oversight. While the overall findings demonstrate high standards of care and successful practices, historical challenges in certain areas, such as working relationships with local medical practices, required active intervention by the management team to improve health access for residents.

Safe: Comprehensive risk assessments are in place covering nutrition, physical and mental health, and behavioral needs, supported by proper staff training in managing emotional reactions safely. Medicines are managed rigorously with daily checks, monthly audits, and active adherence to over-medication reduction principles.

Effective: Staff receive thorough inductions, shadowing opportunities, and specialized training to understand resident needs and the Mental Capacity Act frameworks. Increased staffing levels have significantly improved consistency, enabling dedicated one-to-one support and more frequent community outings.

Caring: Staff build strong, supportive relationships and actively involve residents in expressing their views through keyworker meetings. Relatives report feeling genuinely listened to and included in the home's life, noting successful responsiveness to feedback such as improving dietary nutrition.

Responsive: Care plans are tailored to individual needs and supported by effective partnerships with external specialists, including Positive Behaviour Support teams. The management team has successfully resolved past communication barriers with the local doctor's surgery, establishing regular weekly calls and visits to secure timely medical advice.

Well-led: The management team maintains effective oversight through regular quality audits, shift handovers, and structured team meetings that foster a positive, communicative culture. Leadership understands regulatory requirements thoroughly, ensuring transparent reporting and strong partnership working across all levels of the service.
