Staffing levels were found to be sufficient to meet residents' needs safely, and new staff were recruited following thorough checks.
Regarding the effectiveness of the care provided, staff were noted to possess the necessary skills and knowledge to support residents effectively. Care plans were personalised and accurately reflected individual needs, ensuring residents received appropriate support with their health and wellbeing, including access to healthcare professionals and assistance with eating and drinking when required. The home's environment was well-suited to residents' needs, with adapted facilities and a secure garden. The service also demonstrated a good understanding and application of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
When considering how caring the service is, residents and their relatives consistently described staff as kind, compassionate, and respectful. A dedicated activities coordinator ensured a varied program of social, physical, and cultural activities, tailored to residents' preferences, including events for families. Residents and their families felt comfortable raising concerns, and any issues raised were addressed promptly and appropriately. The service also supported residents and their families with end-of-life care wishes.
Finally, concerning how well-led the service is, both residents, relatives, and external professionals described the management as effective and transparent. The registered manager was seen to be committed and experienced, working with a clear vision to make the service feel like a home.
