Residents had access to balanced meals and were supported to eat and drink safely, with necessary referrals to health professionals being made. The environment was also noted as being well-designed and adapted to meet residents' needs.
On the caring aspect, staff were observed to be kind and compassionate, showing a good understanding of individual preferences and actively promoting resident independence. They worked to support residents in making informed decisions. In terms of responsiveness, care plans were regularly reviewed with the involvement of residents and their families, and residents were encouraged to pursue their interests and participate in social activities. The registered manager addressed complaints in a timely manner, and appropriate end-of-life care was provided. Finally, looking at how well-led the service is, there were systems in place to monitor and ensure good care, which were reviewed regularly. Staff, residents, and their relatives spoke very positively about the registered manager, who maintained good community links and sought ways to promote good practice. While the report is overwhelmingly positive, it did suggest that the provider consider what additional support people may need regarding the Accessible Information Standard.
