Carleen Nursing and Residential Care Home provides accommodation, nursing, and personal care for up to 40 older people, including those living with dementia. During this unannounced inspection, residents and their families shared positive feedback about the overall experience, noting that individuals felt safe and well-supported by a kind and suitably trained team. The service demonstrated solid organization across all evaluated areas, though continuous monitoring of care practices remains a standard part of their routine.
When it comes to safety, residents reported feeling secure, noting that staff and management understood how to prevent and address any risks of abuse. Potential hazards, including risks of falls, malnutrition, and environmental concerns, were clearly recorded in care plans and updated as circumstances changed, while equipment and the premises underwent regular safety checks.
The support provided proved effective through thorough staff training, including classroom-based care certificate courses and regular supervision. Residents expressed satisfaction with the variety and quality of meals provided, and the home maintained strong links with local healthcare professionals, including regular visits and video calls from a local doctor.
Interactions between residents and staff were described as kind, patient, and respectful of personal dignity.
