This report summarises the findings of an inspection at Choices for Living Well (Killelea), a service offering short-term rehabilitation and reablement support for up to 36 individuals. The aim is to help people regain daily living skills and independence after a hospital stay or a crisis at home, with a focus on supporting them for up to six weeks. The inspection specifically reviewed the service's adherence to infection prevention and control measures, particularly in the context of its designated role for individuals discharged from hospital.

Regarding safety, the inspection found that the service effectively prevented the spread of infections among visitors and residents. They were assured that shielding and social distancing rules were met, and that new admissions were handled safely. The effective and safe use of personal protective equipment was confirmed, along with access to testing for both residents and staff. The premises’ layout and hygiene practices also promoted safety, and the service was well-prepared to prevent or manage any potential infection outbreaks, with an up-to-date infection prevention and control policy.
