Dolphin Court provides a welcoming and well-maintained home for fifteen adults with learning and physical disabilities across three adapted buildings and three separate flats. The service focuses strongly on promoting independence, choice, and inclusion so residents can live ordinary and fulfilling lives. Families report a warm, friendly atmosphere and strong, trusting relationships between residents and the consistent staff team. While the overall standard of accommodation and care is noted as very high, a relative mentioned that, as with many large organizations with central contracts, getting simple repairs carried out can occasionally cause frustration.
When it comes to safety, staff actively manage and reduce risks both inside the home and out in the community, while following proper procedures to protect residents from harm and abuse. Medications are handled safely and securely with accurate records, and thorough hygiene practices keep the purpose-built environment clean and well-maintained.
The service proves effective through knowledgeable staff who receive regular training, inductions, and ongoing support to meet residents' needs. Team members work well with external healthcare professionals, support a balanced diet, and properly apply legal frameworks like the Mental Capacity Act to ensure decisions are made in people's best interests.
Residents experience caring support from staff who treat them with genuine warmth, respect, and kindness. Team members understand individual communication methods, respect privacy and dignity, and actively involve families in care planning through regular communication and modern digital tools like eBooks.
Care is highly responsive to personal needs, featuring detailed, individual support plans that capture each resident's history, choices, and preferences. A clear complaints process is in place to ensure any concerns from residents or their families are properly listened to, investigated, and addressed.
The home is well-led by an established registered manager who meets all regulatory requirements and fosters an open, inclusive culture. Quality is continually monitored through regular audits, and the provider actively welcomes and acts upon feedback from staff, relatives, and healthcare professionals to improve the service.
