In terms of how effective the care is, staff receive good training and support, including specific interventions like NAPPI training which has helped reduce challenging behaviours. The service is proactive in assessing residents' needs, ensuring care aligns with national guidance, and residents are actively involved in menu planning and supported in maintaining a healthy diet. The accommodation is well-adapted to meet individual needs and promote independence.
When it comes to caring, residents are treated with kindness, respect, and their privacy and dignity are actively promoted. Staff demonstrate a deep understanding of individual preferences, backgrounds, and goals, fostering a person-centred approach. Communication methods are tailored to residents' needs, ensuring they are included in discussions and decision-making processes.
Regarding how responsive the service is, care plans are consistently developed and reviewed in line with individual needs and preferences. Staff possess a good understanding of residents' requirements, enabling them to support participation in chosen activities. The home has a clear complaints system, and residents and their families are aware of how to raise concerns, with confidence that these will be addressed. It was noted that the service is not currently supporting anyone at the end of their life.
Finally, concerning how well-led the service is, there is a registered manager who ensures staff understand their responsibilities and regulatory requirements are met. Both residents and staff have positive views of the leadership, and staff feel well-supported. The service collaborates effectively with other agencies, and regular monitoring and audits are conducted to maintain high standards.
