When considering how caring the staff are, residents and their relatives reported feeling safe and well-supported, with staff demonstrating kindness and understanding, and the home environment has been significantly improved through refurbishment. In terms of how responsive the service is, people are supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff acting in their best interests and in the least restrictive way possible, and the home now enables visiting according to current government guidance. Looking at how well-led the service is, while improvements have been made, governance systems need to be more robust to monitor and enhance the quality of care, and not all significant events were notified to the CQC as required.
