On the aspect of caring, communication with residents and their relatives was highlighted as a strength, with regular updates provided about health and well-being, and feedback actively sought to maintain person-centred approaches.

Looking at how responsive the service is, the home was able to manage infection outbreaks by effectively zoning the premises to minimise spread. Enhanced visiting processes were in place and reviewed to allow access for those identified as struggling or showing distressed behaviour, with individual risk assessments conducted for each visit.

Finally, in terms of how well-led the service is, the registered manager involved staff in daily management, appointing a COVID-19 coordinator to monitor tasks like testing. This ensured timely identification and actioning of any necessary steps to maintain a safe environment for all.
