Following previous concerns identified during an inspection in 2017, the management team and provider implemented significant improvements across the service. At the latest inspection, the home successfully met all previous regulatory requirements, demonstrating positive progress in its overall operation, safety standards, and daily care practices.
Staffing levels are sufficient to meet people's needs promptly, and medications are managed safely with appropriate protocols and checks in place. The home maintains a secure environment, though inspectors noted that some bedroom wardrobes required securing and wet mops needed proper air drying, which management addressed immediately.
Staff receive comprehensive mandatory and specialized training, including dementia care simulation, ensuring they have the necessary skills to support residents. Nutritional needs are effectively met through innovative projects like booster snack boxes and tailored meal options, although minor maintenance issues were identified in a third-floor bathroom and around some bedroom sinks.
The staff team is kind, respectful, and attentive to residents' personal preferences, privacy, and dignity. Care plans are detailed and support independence, while residents are actively engaged in meaningful daily activities and social interactions.
Care plans and risk assessments provide clear, up-to-date guidance for staff to handle various health needs, mobility equipment, and emotional wellbeing. The home responds well to feedback and complaints, using resident input and modern technology like virtual assistants and monitoring systems to continuously improve daily life.
Management oversight has significantly improved through proactive leadership and robust quality monitoring systems. Relatives, residents, and staff express positive views about the registered manager and the successful turnaround of the service.
