Residents generally reported feeling safe and well-cared for, and staff demonstrated a good understanding of their roles.
Regarding safety, residents felt secure living at the home, and staff were knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns. Risks to health and safety were identified and managed with clear plans in place for staff. The home maintained good infection control practices, and medicines were administered safely by trained staff. However, there was a minor recommendation regarding staff attire, specifically jewellery and false nails, to further enhance infection control.
In terms of effectiveness, the care provided was found to be suitable to meet residents' needs, with comprehensive assessments conducted prior to admission. Staff received adequate training and supervision, including specialised training for mental health support. Residents had access to nutritious food and drink, and good links with local healthcare services ensured timely medical support when required. The home was also compliant with the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

The home offered activities tailored to residents' interests, ensuring they were kept entertained. There was a clear complaints procedure, and feedback was welcomed as an opportunity for improvement. Support was provided for residents at the end of their lives, ensuring their preferences and choices were respected.
Finally, the service was well-led, with effective quality assurance processes in place to monitor care standards. Resident and staff feedback was actively sought and acted upon. The management team understood their regulatory responsibilities and maintained clear communication with staff. The overall goal of the owner and management was to foster a family-like atmosphere, which was evident in the positive interactions observed throughout the home.
