Whitebourne offers a positive care environment where significant improvements have been made following previous inspections. The home is now out of Special Measures and demonstrates a commitment to providing good quality care. There are sufficient staff to meet resident needs, with appropriate checks carried out on new employees, and medicines are managed and administered safely by trained staff. The home maintains good infection control practices, and emergency procedures are in place.
In terms of how effective the care is, residents are happy with the food provided, and individual dietary needs and preferences are met. Staff seek consent for care and operate within the Mental Capacity Act, involving relatives and healthcare professionals in decision-making. Residents are supported to access healthcare professionals when needed, and staff receive appropriate training and regular supervision. The environment is well-suited to residents' needs, with thorough assessments conducted before admission.
