What inspectors found

Holly Lodge Nursing Home in Frimley Green provides specialist nursing care for 57 people living with dementia and physical health needs. Set in landscaped grounds, the purpose-built home features an experienced registered manager and a consistent team. The latest inspection shows that previous concerns regarding dietary needs have been fully resolved, and the service now meets all regulatory standards. When it comes to safety, potential risks are thoroughly assessed and managed, and medicines are handled securely through an electronic system. Staff receive safeguarding training and know how to report concerns. The environment is clean and well-maintained, though inspectors did discover two damaged and unpleasant-smelling foam mattresses during a random check, which management immediately disposed of and replaced.

The care provided is effective, with staff receiving proper inductions, regular training, and supervision. The home follows the Mental Capacity Act correctly, ensuring decisions are made in residents' best interests when needed. Dietary needs and personal preferences are well met, with a variety of choices available and flexible meal options for individuals.

Staff demonstrate a caring approach, building affectionate and established relationships with residents and their relatives. Privacy and dignity are respected, and diverse cultural, religious, and personal needs are fully supported by the team.

The service is highly responsive to individual needs, offering regular care plan reviews and a range of activities. Support is provided for residents' diverse interests, complaints are handled appropriately, and end-of-life care is available.

Leadership is strong and transparent, with effective quality monitoring systems in place. The registered manager is well-regarded by staff, who communicate well and work cohesively as a team in partnership with external health professionals.
