This report summarises findings from a recent inspection, assessing how the home performs across key areas of care. Overall, the inspection identified many positive aspects of the service, indicating that residents generally receive good quality care. On safety, residents are protected from harm, with staff trained to recognise and report safeguarding concerns and proactively managing risks. Although most aspects of safety were well-managed, there was a minor observation regarding the incorrect wearing of masks by some staff, which the management has since addressed with refresher training. The home ensures safe medication practices and maintains a secure environment.
In terms of how effective the care is, Elizabeth Court ensures that residents' needs are met through a structured approach. The home operates effectively within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and residents' care plans are comprehensive and regularly reviewed. Staff receive good training relevant to the residents' needs, though the manager is working to ensure all staff have regular one-to-one supervisions.

While there was an observation that some areas of the home could be more engaging with activities, the manager is developing plans for more external outings and has acknowledged the need for consistent engagement across all units.
Finally, the service is well-led, with a manager who is responsive to families and supportive of her staff. The manager has plans for the future development of the service and has already established community links. The overall leadership fosters a positive environment for both residents and staff.
