Residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration, and the home collaborates effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. However, a project to adapt a floor for people living with dementia was ongoing and not yet completed.

The caring aspect of the service is demonstrated through staff's compassionate and kind relationships with residents, who feel well-known and respected. Staff actively promote resident dignity and independence, and residents and their families feel involved in care decisions.

On responsiveness, Rowan Lodge adapts care to residents' changing needs, and there are clear processes for handling complaints promptly. Plans are in place to provide end-of-life care, with staff trained in this area.

Finally, concerning leadership, the service is well-led with a registered manager who fosters a supportive culture. Systems are in place to monitor service quality, and the provider actively involves residents, relatives, and staff in decisions, working effectively with external healthcare professionals. While quality assurance systems are in place, they need further development to fully reflect all improvement actions taken.
