Safeguarding concerns are handled appropriately and investigated thoroughly. While the home benefits from a stable staff team, a minor issue with the volume of call bell alarms was identified and promptly addressed by the manager. The home also ensures robust practices for medication management and infection control, aligned with current guidance.

In terms of how effective the care is, resident needs and choices are thoroughly assessed and form the basis of personalised care plans. Staff receive comprehensive training and support, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to deliver high-quality care. The service actively supports residents' nutritional needs, with well-planned meals and attention to individual preferences, and works effectively with external healthcare professionals to ensure timely and appropriate care. The physical environment is well-designed and adapted to meet residents' needs, including those with dementia.

Regarding caring practices, staff are consistently observed to be kind, compassionate, and respectful of residents' dignity and diversity. Residents are actively involved in decisions about their care, with staff making efforts to understand and accommodate their preferences. The home fosters a welcoming atmosphere, and personal touches, like gifts for new residents, contribute to a feeling of being at home. Independence is encouraged, and residents' privacy is consistently maintained.

The service is responsive to residents' needs, with care plans being highly personalised and reviewed regularly. Residents and their families are involved in the care planning process, ensuring that individual preferences, life histories, and relationships are considered. The home also supports residents' communication needs and facilitates meaningful engagement, including interaction with pets, which has a positive impact on well-being.

Finally, the service is well-led, with a registered manager providing clear direction and empowering staff.
