This report summarises an inspection of The Tamarind, a care home for up to five individuals with learning disabilities. The inspection took place on 19 December 2018. The report found that people using the service and their relatives were highly complimentary about the staff and the care provided. Residents received adequate nutrition and hydration, and the environment was well-maintained to meet their needs.
Regarding caring practices, staff treated residents with empathy, kindness, and respect, fostering a family-like atmosphere. Residents and their families felt happy and supported, with staff actively promoting residents' independence and involving them in their care plans.
Concerning responsiveness, care plans were detailed, regularly reviewed, and personalised to individual needs and preferences. The service actively supported residents' interests and community participation, and any complaints were handled promptly and effectively.
Finally, on how the service is well-led, the management team demonstrated a strong understanding of the service's operations and regulatory requirements. A culture of openness and continuous improvement was evident, with regular audits and feedback mechanisms in place to enhance the quality of care provided.
