The White House is a specialist residential care home supporting up to 45 people, including both younger and older individuals living with dementia and various mental health conditions. Families, residents, and healthcare professionals consistently share positive feedback about the compassionate, highly personalized environment. The service focuses heavily on maintaining individual choice, active lifestyles, and strong emotional connections between staff and residents.
Residents are well protected from harm and abuse through proper staff training, robust policies, and clear whistleblowing procedures. Safe and effective recruitment practices are in place, alongside secure medicine management and clean, well-maintained premises. While individual risk assessments are generally well managed, ongoing work is currently underway to make certain less detailed risk assessments even more robust.
The physical environment is exceptionally well-designed to support people with dementia, featuring freedom of movement and extensive outdoor spaces including a secure garden with a mini-zoo. Staff collaborate closely with external medical professionals and prioritize behavioral approaches rather than relying on medication.
