Winchester House

In terms of how effective the care is, staff work collaboratively to provide personalised support, backed by thorough training and regular supervision. Residents are actively involved in decisions about their care, their healthcare needs are well-met, and they are supported to eat and drink appropriately.

The service is described as caring, with staff building warm, positive relationships with residents and demonstrating respect and kindness. Residents are satisfied with the care provided, feel involved in decisions about their well-being, and their equality and diversity are consistently considered.

Regarding how responsive the service is, care plans are up-to-date and reflect residents' current needs, ensuring personalised care that promotes independence. Activities are available and flexible, allowing residents to participate as they wish, and the service provides compassionate end-of-life care.

In its leadership, the service is well-led, with regular quality checks used to drive improvements in safety and resident outcomes. Staff feel well-supported and understand their roles, and the registered manager has good oversight and is approachable for residents and relatives. The manager is proactive in notifying CQC of significant events and has a clear vision for the service.
